Winter Chill...
A rundown of the weekend
(2007-08-27, 9:32 p.m.)
Today was the big first day at the new job. It was job shadowing, and really, it was boring. Tomorrow I get to get my hands dirty so to speak, so that will be nice.
They have a robot called Rex, that pulls the meds for the floors. It's really cool how it works. There is also a machine called the PacMed, which packages single doses for Rex. I have a three ring binder that is about 1.5" thick of everything I have to learn. I'm pretty happy though, I get the weekends off while I'm on training. I also have this coming Monday off for the holiday, so a long weekend just after a vacation is rocking! My schedule is different though. Tomorrow and Wednesday, I work 7-3:30, and Thursday and Friday 6-2:30! I don't know if I'm going to be ready for those times! Today after I got home, I was sitting on the sofa and playing Zoo Tycoon, and at one point realized, I was snoozing. Probably not a good idea to take a nap so late in the day. I hope I can sleep tonight...
Well, as you recall, Friday was my going away party from my old department. There was a nice group of people who came out, and we had a great time. We ended up going to a different bar, Fricks was just to boring. Some of my co-workers gave me a gift card to Logans, which was nice. I don't know who I'll take, but I have 2 years before they start reducing how much is on there.
Saturday was Bro's dinner/house warming/bonfire. They had so much food, it was insane. And it was all good too! Chris wanted to go home, and spend some time with his dad, so I brought him back into town, and then went back out. When I got back, all the wives that were left were inside talking about Longaberger baskets. I quickly made my way outside to the fire and they guys. Where we talked about cool stuff like football and porn.
It was about 11 and everyone started leaving, and I really wanted to stay. Bro started packing stuff up, and basically told me, that they were going inside, they were tired, they had been up since 6:30. Well, la-de-da, so was I, and I was doing fine!
Yesterday I hung around the house, and just vegged. Stacey wanted me to come over and help her decorate a room, but I wanted to stay home.
The Amish Auction is this weekend, and I want to get a hold of Tom and see if he wants to go. He got a new phone number, and hasn't told me what it is. If he can't make it, no reason why I can't go by myself.
So that about covers the last few days...
